Small room, high stakes
A bathroom is the smallest room we remodel and one of the most technical. Every surface gets wet. Every seam is a potential leak. The difference between a bathroom that looks great for fifteen years and one that grows mold behind the tile in three is entirely in the hidden work: waterproofing membranes, proper slope to the drain, sealed penetrations, ventilation that actually moves air. We do all of it, to code, with permits.
What we remodel
Hall bathrooms
The workhorse bath — tub/shower combo to walk-in shower conversions, new vanity, tile, fixtures, lighting. The highest-impact refresh in most homes.
Master suites
Double vanities, walk-in showers with bench and niche, freestanding tubs, heated floors. Layout changes, moving plumbing — the full suite, planned on paper before demo.
Powder rooms
Small space, big impression. The powder room is where guests judge your house — a sharp vanity, good mirror, and proper lighting go a long way for a modest budget.
Accessibility upgrades
Curbless showers, grab bars that are actually anchored to blocking (not just screwed to tile), comfort-height toilets, handheld showers. Remodel once, age in place comfortably.
The waterproofing we insist on
Behind every shower and tub surround we install a proper waterproofing system — membrane on walls, sealed corners and penetrations, sloped shower pan or pre-sloped base. Tile is not waterproof; grout is not waterproof. The membrane is what keeps water out of your walls and subfloor. Any contractor who tiles directly over drywall in a wet area is building you a future tear-out. We do not do that.
Tile, vanities, fixtures
We set tile tight with consistent grout lines — floors, walls, niches, shower benches. Vanities from stock to custom, installed level and scribed to the wall. Fixtures from the brands with parts you can actually buy in ten years. We will talk through where to spend (shower valve, waterproofing) and where to save (decorative tile accents).
How long it takes
A hall bath is usually two to three weeks. A master suite with layout changes runs three to five. Tile setting and curing cannot be rushed — thinset needs its time. See our cost and timeline guide.
What it costs
Hall baths in our area often land in the $10K–$20K range; master suites with layout changes and premium tile run higher. Tile and fixture selections swing the number more than anything else.
A note on prices: material and labor costs move up and down, and no two projects need the same work. Treat any numbers on this page as starting points, not quotes. Your written estimate after our free visit is the real number for your project.
One-bathroom homes
If the bathroom we are remodeling is your only one, we plan around it: tight scheduling, clear daily milestones, and honest talk about the days you will need another option. We have done this many times — it is manageable with a real plan.
